St John's meet the New Zealand All Blacks

On Thursday 8th October 2015 St John’s received an exciting invitation to attend a rugby training session held by the New Zealand All Blacks at Mowden Park Stadium. Twelve students from across five year groups attended the event and received expert coaching from players such as Sonny Bill Williams, Jerome Kaino and Brodie Retallick.
The atmosphere in the stadium was fantastic and the boys displayed their skills in front of 4000 fans watching from the stands. All of the students were outstanding ambassadors for our school and felt that they had gained vital experience for their rugby progression.
Also at the event, The New Zealand All Blacks kindly signed an official shirt for St Johns School. This was raffled at our prestigious Sports Awards evening in October and was won by a member of staff at St John’s. The winner would like to remain anonymous for the moment as the signed shirt is wrapped ready for a Christmas gift!
The raffle raised over £400 towards our PE Sports fund. A big thank you goes to everyone who bought a ticket.
